Last Night I Had a Dream

On the occasion of artgeneve 2023, De Jonckheere is exhibiting Last Night I Had a Dream, a series of 18 sculptures created by Niki de Saint Phalle in 1968.
As the title suggests, this series recounts the memories of a dream that seems to be that of happiness in love. These independent pieces form a large wall composition, a true formal invention, and bring together the key symbols of the artist's mythology, including her famous Nanas. With her electrically colored and joyful figures, Niki de Saint Phalle leaves it up to the viewer to construct his or her own narrative.
