JOURNEY THROUGH A CENTURY OF DECORATIVE ARTS
Decorative arts from 1920 to today and photography

This new exhibition of the Patrick Gutknecht Gallery is presented in the form of a journey.  A journey that begins in the 1920s, "the roaring twenties", and ends today.

In order to show how the decorative arts have crossed time and have adapted to their time, the gallery's team has chosen to put contemporary creations in dialogue with furniture, lighting and art deco objects from the 1930s, neoclassical from the 1940s or "design" from the 1960s-1970s.

This journey through time allows visitors to discover how far ahead of their time some designers were and how they gave free rein to their imagination.  Thus, rather than hiding certain elements such as a light bulb, a nail or a mortise, they chose to put them forward and make them a decorative element.  Without boldness no freedom ...
